Hybrid Ministry in a Post-Pandemic Church
January 6, 13, and 20 from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM CST
Via Webcast | LIVE ONLINE
Whether you’re high-tech, low-tech, or no-tech whatsoever, it’s nearly impossible to miss the shift that’s taking place in our culture. Curiosity is on the rise. Participation is sparking creativity and connection. For the first time ever, digital technology is shaping our values.
Our churches need the capacity and will to engage with a changing culture—one that isn’t afraid to embrace hard questions.
How are you being called to adapt?
What You’ll Learn
- An understanding of hybrid ministry in a variety of contexts, including worship, faith formation, stewardship, church leadership, and more
- The limits of hybrid ministry (when virtual engagement is unnecessary)
- Coaching and change management techniques to address the people in your congregation who might prefer a return to a pre-pandemic “normal”
- An ability to envision and create hybrid ministries within your faith community
SHIFT MINISTRY MODELS
- Session 1 You Were Offline, Then You Were Online. Now Do Both.
- Session 2 Hybrid Church in Action.
- Session 3 Did it Work? Evaluating and Refining Your Hybrid Practice.
Session 1: You Were Offline, Then You Were Online. Now Do Both.
In this session, you’ll learn how hybrid ministry can be used as a tool for equipping rather than strictly gathering. Ryan will also help you create a framework that builds on collaboration, creates seamless experiences, and allows room for stewardship and generosity. During the first breakout session, you and your learning cohort will have an opportunity to assess your congregation’s readiness for hybrid ministry.
Session 2: Hybrid Church in Action
The second session builds on the work you began in week one. Now is the time to make concepts more concrete, especially in the areas of worship, church leadership, and faith formation. For worship, you’ll learn how to create an experience that extends beyond the physical space of your building, while leadership and faith formation will focus on the intentionality required to connect with your faith community.
Session 3: Did it Work? Evaluating and Refining Your Hybrid Practice.
It’s impossible to know if, or how well, a practice is working without stepping back to honestly evaluate what and how you’re doing. The third and final session is a chance to do just that. With Ryan’s guidance, you’ll review all aspects of the hybrid ministry framework. This will also be your chance to create an action guide before focusing on resilience and agility in the breakout sessions.
